For youths and humans in general irrespective of the
age, gender, and race, this aspect of life is quite daunting and complex. Why
is it complex? Finding your passion can be adaunting
task because a lot of individuals are quite confused on what they are truly passionate about. Others believe following your passion may not settle down with their friends and family. The
truth of the matter is, following your passion
might be quite difficult, but in the long run, it results in happiness and fulfillment. Most times when I am opportune to
speak to Highschool students or college graduates, the question of how to find
my passion is usually the question of the day.
HOW
CAN YOU FIND YOUR PASSION?
- Evaluate Your life by asking yourself questions
Finding your passion could be easier than you think. A significant step to finding your passion is by asking and answering these questions honestly;these answers can go along way to reshaping your future for something great.
"What are those activities that I am good at?"
"What is/are those job I can do voluntarily without being bothered by money?"
"What is that activity, ajob that gives me a sense of fulfillment when I do them?"
- Remember what you loved doing as a child
Our childhood is usually a defining moment of who we later become. While this may not always be the case for everybody, it still plays a role in our adulthood. Where you a good artist or cartoonist during your childhood, before the pressure to study the right subjects or get a good job began to mount? Use these memories to help you find your true passion as an adult. It could be childhood hobbies that brought happiness or joy. Try to build on them to become an integral part of you.
- Keep working towards achieving it
Never wait for the eureka moment. Waiting for such moment is one of the problems faced by youths around the world. Even though you may have discovered your passion, it is important that you put in more work into building and developing your passion.According to Life Coach, Logan Jay, “Your true passion is not found overnight, but is realized through series of discoveries of small interests," he says. "I have always regarded thinking/meditating as a process of reading/analyzing your mind, which in turn leads to discovering your true passion."
- Don’t Make Money your Primary Goal
If you’re looking to spend your life doing something you love, the best way to start is to treat financial concerns as secondary. If your purpose of discovering your passion and engaging in your passion is about what you do and how much money you earn are your primary concern, you will instantly limit your options to what’s predictable and getting to do what you will be tough. Always place the monetary aspect as secondary and creating an impact as primary. Individuals such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs are a good example of individuals who followed their passion for considering the monetary gains.
